Read the new take-home book School and made flashcards for HFW - I, see, two.
Formed letters at the light table. This activity helped the kids to think about the shapes and lines that form letters.
Played memory games. First, the kids played a HFW memory using all the words learned to date.
Then, they played a rhyming word memory game. Memory is such a good way for kids to practice skills while improving short term memory.
Sorted /D/ pictures by the beginning and ending sound. Does the picture begin or end with the /D/?
Made Popcorn words! Kids drew pictures of /P/ words on little pieces of paper popcorn, wrote the /P/ word and then put them in the popcorn bag! Be sure to ask your child to read the popcorn words to you.
Put the finishing touches on our tapestry that we began last week!
Completed a HFW book "I See." This book used number words. We now have enough words to write sentences!
