After finding out where Vietnam is on a map, reading about how New Year's is celebrated in Vietnam, and watching some great
videos of the dragon dance, we broke into small groups to make our own dragons.
The kids did a great job collaborating on their dragons. We used recycled materials and lots of glitter to make the dragons.
Lots of discussion and hot glue.
Today, Leon's parents visited our class and brought delicious egg rolls. They were gobbled up by many children. His mom explained how they made them and talked to us about how they came to the United States at as young adults. We enjoyed talking with them! Leon wore his special "dragon suit" from Vietnam.

Next, we danced the Dragon Dance! Each group paraded around while the audience made music and cheered them on!
The kids also videoed a few "dances" for your enjoyment!
